Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially entered the electric vehicle market by opening bookings for its much-anticipated electric scooters, the Activa e: and QC1.
Booking Details:
Relative to these models, interested customers can pre-book these models for a token amount of ₹1,000. The Activa e: is currently available at some of the dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and the QC1 is available for a fixed booking across the dealerships in some other cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. The delivery of both models is expected to begin in February 2025. Specific details of the prices will be unveiled at the Bhart Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025 scheduled later this month.
Honda Activa e: Specifications and Features:
– Battery and Range: This model comes with two detachable batteries: primary and secondary ones; they are 1.5 kWh each, but Activa e: holds a total of 3 kWh. configured in this manner, it offers the manufacturer reported range of 102 km on a single charge.
– Performance: It is equipped with a 6 kW motor developing 22 Nm of toque and has a maximum speed of 80 km/h, 0 to 60 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
– Riding Modes: There is Extreme power mode which has been renamed to Econ, Standard and Sport to suit the tastes of cyclists, among others.
– Display and Connectivity: The centre panel has a 7-inch TFT display which also comes with Honda RoadSync Duo smartphone app for navigation and other smart options.
– Additional Features: The scooter comes equipped with the Honda H-Smart key system and may be bought in five color options that include Pearl Serenity Blue, and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic.
Honda QC1 Specifications and Features:
Battery and Range: Designed for short distance traveling the QC1 comes with a non-tile 1.5 kWh battery, it has a range of 80km, it takes 4.5hours to charge to 80% using domestic charging system.
Performance: Its in-wheel motor delivers up to 1.8kW, which enables top speed of 50 km/h.
Display and Features: An aspect that makes it easier to compare it with other cars is that the QC1 is equipped with the following; five-inch LCD display, USB type C charging port, and has an under seat boot space of 26 liters.
Warranty and Services:
They include a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty, three scheduled services free of charge, and one year of free roadside assistance. The production is planned to be in Honda’s plant at Narsapura, Karnataka.
In collaboration with HMSI and HCIL, and with the support of QC1, Honda would wish to make a strong push in the growing electric scooter market in India presenting clients with stable and credible choices in electrified urban mobility.
