Bank of Baroda (BoB) has modified the policy of airport lounge access for credit card holders starting January 1, 2025. Under the revised policy, holders will have to qualify under a minimum quarterly spending requirement to be eligible for free lounge visit(s).
The following key changes are included:
Minimum Spending Requirements:
– Rs. 40,000 each quarter:`
Eligible Cards:
- Eterna
- Eterna – FD
- Tiara
- ICAI Exclusive
- ICMAI One
- ICSI Diamond
- Varunah Premium
– `Rs. 20,000 each quarter:`
Eligible Cards:
- Varunah Plus
- The Sentinel
- Rakshamah
- Yoddha
- Corporate
- Premier
- Premier – FD
- HPCL
Free Visit Allowances:
– Unlimited Access;
Eterna, Tiara, and Varunah Premium cards shall give unlimited free lounges, contingent on Rs 40,000 being spent every quarter.
– Limited Access:
Other cards stipulate a specific number of free visits per quarter after the associated spendings have been achieved.
New Cardholders:
– Waiver Timeliness:
Newly issued cards will waive the minimum spend amount necessary in the calendar quarter of issuance for immediate lounge benefit access.
Note: Waivers do not extend to upgrades in the same quarter.
Implementation and Monitoring:
– Effective Date:
January 1, 2025, will be the revised date for its enactment.
– Spending Monitoring:
Cardholders can track their spending on the BOBCARD mobile app or the official website in order to justify their eligibility for lounge access.
There are variations in the benefits that banks are offering on credit cards to promote higher spending and optimize services, in line with industry norms. Credit card customers must critically analyze their use of cards concerning these changes and the impact on access to airport lounge facilities.
