The company has planned to launch the XUV 200 in India to capture a large portion of the compact SUV segment. This new model is set to provide for a convergence of trendiness, performance, and price to cater to a broad market dimension for urban vehicle users.
Design and Features
Easy to notice, the Mahindra XUV 200 has an up-tempo and cutthroat appearance that is defined by a responsive front grille, LED headlamps, and characterizing lines. Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the XUV 200 is expected to offer two engine options:
Level 1 with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing about 130 bhp and 230 Nm of torque.
A 1.5-litre diesel engine that delivers roughly about 120 bhp and 300 Nm torque.
Expect both engines to be mated with a 6-speed manual, but there will be a 6-speed AMT available as an option for high-trim models. The petrol model is expected to have a fuel-efficient range of 18-20 kmpl while the diesel model will be most suitable for a range of 21-23 kmpl which would target lovers of power plus fuel economy.
Safety and Technology
Standard safety however expected in the XUV 200 are dual front airbags, an Anti-locking braking system with Electronic Brake-force distribution, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera across the range. Other features may include side and curtain airbags, a system of electronic stabilization, and a hill-starting aid for safe driving at the higher levels of trim.
Pricing and Competition
The Mahindra XUV 200 should be well priced with the bottom variant likely to be approximately ₹ 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing will make it compete directly with strong models such as Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and the Hyundai venue within the compact SUV segment.
